10R was born into a slave class called "Autons" in which compliance, passivity, and conformity kept the children alive. Gifted with an early awareness, 10R watched and learned. Aggression and deviation led to children disappearing, so 10R did everything exactly as expected... until a knowledge test showed his aptitude and threatened to reveal the friend who taught him how to exploit the system.
